'Market Intelligence' is the use of latest market information to optimize business processes and to back up management/marketing decisions.

A market can be defined by branch of business, technology, target groups or region. However, it is essential a) to know the own markets and b) to stay always updated. Market Intelligence takes both sides of the coin - the knowledge of the recent state (by a market study) as well as permanent monitoring of changes and movements - as equal parts of an overall market knowledge strategy.
